30th August 2018, Skopje – Government, in cooperation with the Public Enterprise for State Roads, will implement the Kriva Palanka – Bulgarian Border Road Project.
– This investment is intended for rehabilitation and extension of a single two-lane carriageway road section into a single three-lane carriageway road section, rehabilitation of a single two-lane carriageway road section and rehabilitation of a single three-lane carriageway road section, 13 km long in total. Kriva Palanka – Deve Bair road section is part of the eastern section of the Pan-European Road Corridor VIII, hence benefits from Project implementation would not be only of national, but also of regional interest – Minister of Finance, Dragan Tevdovski, pointed out in his exposé. Draft Law on Guarantee by the Republic of Macedonia as regards the obligations arising from the Loan Agreement for financing this road section is in parliamentary procedure. Loan Agreement will be concluded between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Public Enterprise for State Roads.
EBRD will provide EUR 100 million for Project implementation. In addition, it is expected for the investment grant in the amount of EUR 2.62 million under the Wester Balkans Investment Framework to be officially approved in December 2018.
