Government will help in compensating citizens of Kriva Palanka region, being affected by harsh storm these days, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski said today during his visit to Psaca village, Rankovce Municiplaity.
 
Stavreski, being accompanied by the Mayor of Rankovce Municipality Orce Todorovski, concluded that overflowing of Psacnica river, following the heavy showers caused huge damages to both the houses and the properties.
 
– It is a matter of huge damages caused by the storm. Municipality’s success in rehabilitating the initial damages is a good signal, however, it is obvious a matter of more serious damages exceeding the financial capacity of Rankovce municipality. The Government will help in compensating part of the damages. We have agreed with the Mayor to accelerate the procedure with the Commission he established, to take minutes of the size and the type of the damages and to submit it to the Government, which will consider it, and in line with the financial capacities, we are going to help citizens of Psaca as regards the damages made to the houses and the gardens and the other agricultural land, Stavreski pointed out.
 
The Government, as the Minister added, will make effort to compensate these citizens, as soon as possible, such as the case with the municipalities of Gevgelija, Valandovo, Vasilevo and Strumica, which were also hit by natural disasters.
 
On Friday, Psacnica river, swollen with torrential rain, flooded Psaca village on the territory of Rankovce. Following the storm, which according to the citizens lasted two hours, large quantity of the river, bringing trees, stones and sand caused huge damages to the houses. On Friday evening, Psaca had no electricity or water, and the road leading to Odreni and Opila villages was also damaged. Across the valley course, the telephone cables were also destroyed. The next day, Rankovci Municipality established crisis headquarters, starting to rehabilitate the damages by mechanizing the utility enterprises.
 
There were no any injured people during the flood, however, the household furnishings and the agricultural mechanization were ruined, and part of the cattle, which the locals did not manage to save got killed.(MIA)
