Short Description:
The specific objective of the project is to improve and harmonize tax and customs legislation in line with the relevant EU acquis and best practices, improve economic analysis and revenue forecasting and modelling and enhance operational and administrative capacities of key institutions in the system. In addition, the project aims to simplify tax and customs procedures, including declaring and payment by reducing the administrative procedures and costs and improving quality of tax and customs services provided to citizens.
Components:
- Component 1: Harmonisation of the legislation in the area of taxation and customs with the Union acquis, standards and best practices.
- Component 2: Enhancing the capacities of the MoF for conducting tax policy analysis and forecasting.
- Component 3: Improvement of the operational and administrative capacities of Customs Administration for enforcement of the national legislation and procedures, accounting management and IT Services.
- Component 4: Improvement of the operational and administrative capacities of the Public Revenue office for enforcement of national legislation, IT Services and procedures.
Experts from Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, the Netherlands and other EU Member States will cooperate with the experts from the Ministry of Finance, Public Revenue office and Customs Administration in various activities foreseen within the time frame of the project.
