Today, President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Nikola Gruveski and Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski met with the delegation from the French Bank Société Générale Group, headed by Jean-Louis Mattei, head of the International Retail Banking.

After the meeting, Minister Stavreski said that Société Générale Group managed in obtaining portion of the credit market and doubled the number of employees following its entry in Macedonia.

Bank managed to increase the number of branch offices and what is most important to bring knowledge and professional standards, the Macedonian banking system needed.

I believe we will succeed in realizing most of the projects that will contribute to the growth of the Macedonian economy, Vice Prime Minister Stavreski said.
According to Jean-Louis Mattei, Société Générale Group is the fourth bank in Macedonia- We are interested in the development of Macedonia as a country. In the past period, the bank has shown significant progress. In the meantime, we have implemented business model, generally applied in all banks. As for Ohridska banka, we cannot say it is unified according to this model, since we have always observed the local standards as well, meaning that it is above all a Macedonian bank, Matei added.

He pointed out that the bank developed on both market segments, i.e. retail and corporate banking. We expect for managers in Ohridska banka in Macedonia to be transferred to Société Générale Group international posts in future, Matei added.

Ms. Jitka Pantuckova from the Czech Republic, who is to take over the post of Chairman of Ohridska banka Management Board at the beginning of next year also attended the meeting.(MIA)
