Prilep 20th March 2013 (MIA) – As of today, payment of subsidies to farmers starts, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski said, attending the cornerstone laying ceremony of the first capacity in the industrial zone Prilep 1.
– We paid subsidies for milk, sheep breeders, cattle owners, and today, we paid Denar 352 million for agricultural crops, wheat, maize, barley, millet, clover and rise, Stavreski said, pointing out that given that the Budget is in good condition, Government continues to support farmers.
Payment of tobacco subsidies commenced as of yesterday. Primary tobacco producers cooperating with five purchasers have already been paid the subsidies, while tobacco growers cooperating with “Tutunski Kombinat Prilep” will be paid by the end of the week.
– By the end of the week, the Government will pay total of EUR 26 million as tobacco subsidies, yesterday, we paid EUR 23 million for all expect for three tobacco companies, among which the one in Prilep. They will be paid by Friday. By Friday, another 3,500 primary tobacco producers of “Tutunski Kombinat Prilep” will be additionally paid by which, we will complete the payment of tobacco subsidies, Stavreski said.
