Skopje, 6th March 2013 (MIA) – Around 286,000 pensioners received the promised increase of pensions today. Funds for the February pension, being increased by Denar 550 linearly for each pensioner were transferred to their accounts this morning.
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, stated today that the increase of pensions was fully included in the 2013 Budget projections, as well as that pensioners could feel safe that they would receive the pensions on time each month, increased by Denar 550.
– Thus, we directly underpin the living standard of pensioners. Of course, funds are never enough, however, each increase in such troubled times means a lot. We have promised this and fulfilled it, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, said following today’s meeting at the Macedonian Association of Pensioners.
He announced that the Government would continue the policies for increase of pensions, and that new increase was envisaged in 2014 and 2015, should the general conditions allow for it.
Stavreski reiterated that, in addition to pension increase, in the past period a series of measures were realized, which contributed to improving the living conditions of pensioners, such as reduction of prices of pharmaceuticals, ensuring free hospital stay and free public transportation.
