Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stravreski believes that problems Pestani citizens face are not a result of the high water-level of the lake but rather a result of the unconstructed sewage collector, being promised to them during the pre-election period by the present Mayor Aleksandar Petreski and Branko Crvenkovski.

-From what I hear from the locals, the main problem is that the sewage collector has not been built. Before the elections, Petreski and Crvenkovski promised that they will build the sewage collector, however, they failed to do so. This is the key problem the people face, especially in places where the septic tanks are overfilled, where nothing but the sewage collector can improve the situation. We will send teams with tank trucks to help, on the short run, to drew the water, however, the final solution is in the hands of the Mayor Petreski, who unfortunately is absent, Stavreski said during today’s visit of Pestani.

He added that they, as Government advice Petreski, when he decides to return to the country and to Ohrid to start and realize the activities, he is responsible for as a Mayor and to build the sewage collector so for the citizens to have no problem.

Minister Stavreski from what he saw believes that the situation is not critical, but it is still serious. We remain fully committed to undertaking measures in terms of watching out for this situation not to become critical, Stavreski added.

Minister of Finance underlined that Supplementary Budget is not planned, since, as he said, there is no need therefore, because the revenues were within the expectations.

Asked whether the information that the public sector will not receive salary by the end of the month is true, Stavreski pointed out that it is not true and that the salary will be paid within the period envisaged by law.

-The public administration, i.e. the public sector should receive salary as the private sector by 15th in the month. Salary will be paid within that deadline. There were payments last week, there are also payments today, so as of today inclusive all salaries will be paid, Stavreski said.

-He announced that the Government plans to systematically resolve the issue with employees with contractual agreements in the public administration in the course of this year and he pointed out that the employment status will be transformed into full time employment for all such employees.

-Public sector has inherited problem with persons, working on the basis of contracts for temporary employment for many years now. Each institution should estimate whether it needs, and probably it does need, these persons, since they have been working for several years, to have their employment status transformed into full time employment during 2010, Minister of Finance said.

Asked about the sale of loss makers such as EMO, Ohis Stavreski pointed out that the preparation of information package for investors is almost finished, and public announcement for sale will be probably published in April. (MIA)
