Skopje, 15th September 2012 (MIA) – Credit line for agricultural enterprises, provided with additional capitalization of Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion (MBDP) started to be used. As it was announced on Saturday by Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, first eight credits in the total amount of EUR 2.7 million have been allocated.
Funds are allocated under exceptionally favourable conditions, being used by enterprises engaged in purchase, processing and export of agricultural products, mainly grapes, wheat and vegetable.
Design and manner, according to which the Government created this credit line hit the target, to help companies, purchasing agricultural products, at the same time exporting them or processing and exporting them, to easily manage the whole process thereof, to export the agricultural products, to collect the funds and to pay the farmers afterwards, Stavreski pointed out.
He expects for all EUR 11 million, being provided by the Government, to be used within relatively short period.
According to Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ljupco Dimovski, this is direct support for new investments aimed at improving the existing businesses in the field of agriculture, as well as for starting new ones.
– Favourable conditions under the credit line of Macedonian Bank for Development Promotion will have a direct effect on the interest of Macedonian farmers to invest in the new machinery, equipment and modern facilities, modernization of food industry, provision of funds so as to purchase larger quantities and to secure sale, fast payment to farmers, as well as stabilization of market relations and provision of conditions for price trend with no oscillations, Dimovski stressed.
Policy of even more favourable rural crediting, the Minister added, is accompanied with the other Government support of farmers for procurement of animals with high genetic potential, growing new fruit plantations, procurement of equipment and extension of production capacities.
