Republic of Macedonia has kept the high position from last year – it is ranked 38th compared to 36th place last year, when it leaped more than thirteen places, which is a confirmation that doing business conditions in Macedonia are considered to be exceptionally good and the best in the region, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, said, commenting on World Bank “Doing Business 2011” Report.

– Macedonia is the best in Europe, and fifth in the world as regards starting a business indicator. This year it is also ranked fifth in the world according to the reforms undertaken in the area of paying taxes and level of tax rate, it is positioned 20th according to the protection of investors indicator, being given the lowest rank as regards closing a business indicator, Stavreski pointed out, expressing his contentment that Macedonia is ranked 38th among 183 countries in the world.

He underlined that Republic of Macedonia is ranked better than any country in the region.

– Slovenia is behind us, taking the 42nd position, Bulgaria is 51st, Serbia is positioned 89th, Croatia is ranked 84th, Greece is 109th, confirming that this distinguished report has ranked the Republic of Macedonia at a high position, which is observed by all investors. It is yet another good signal, following recent upgrading of the rating by Fitch, in terms of positioning the country on the world map of investors, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance underlined.
