Government, as it promised during the election campaign, will continue its efforts in enabling new investments and creating new jobs, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski said Thursday in Prilep, after meeting the Mayor of the municipality Marjan Risteski and the businessmen from the Regional Chamber of Commerce.

– Talks with the businessmen focused on how to launch an investment cycle in Macedonia, which they need in order to start investing and creating new jobs. The Government and the municipality will do their best for this to happen since the main goal of VMRO-DPMNE programme is to significantly reduce unemployment and to enable new investments in the coming period – Stavreski said.

In Prilep, as he added, activities for opening industrial zone will continue, where new plants would be opened, new businesses would be located and new jobs would be created.

Stavreski expects for businessmen from Prilep to precisely and clearly define when, how, and how much they will invest in the coming period since the Government is ready to help them with all instruments and policies.

– I am satisfied with the cooperation with the municipality, which is open and willing to create better business conditions. We disused with Mayor Risteski about reducing all costs as much as possible and preparing the urban plans. This will also include Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakievski, taking part in the discussions Thursday. I believe that we have strong political will. What remains is to agree with the businessmen how to realize the investments and improve the living conditions of citizens, Stavreski pointed out.

Mayor Risteski said that he remains at this position after the elections, although he obtained parliamentary mandate. As regards investment opportunities, Risteski bases the cooperation of the municipality mainly on the recently adopted general urban plan, envisaging much more zones for economic capacities, infrastructure, including also tax incentives for investors.(MIA)
