Skopje, 13th November 2012 (MIA) – Macedonia will be included with a leg in the "South Stream" gas pipeline. As for Russian side, Macedonia obtained suggestion for inter-state agreement to be signed, which is expected to be finalized, to be followed by final signing, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski pointed out today.

– Macedonia will be definitely be part of "South Stream“, being great success for Macedonia, and as for future generations, this will provide for stable and safe supply of gas for the economy and the gas price, which will be paid, Stavreski said, adding that, up to few years ago, it was not planned for Macedonia to be part of this gas power line.

As for the leg location, by which Macedonia will join the gas pipeline, Minister said that the most cost-effective manner for constructing the leg would be chosen, and the experts would be in charge thereof. It will be considered whether it is most cost-effective for it to be built in parallel with the existing one, whether to use the existing one and to extend it or whether to construct it through Serbia, so as to ensure additional supply of gas in Macedonia, or whether a third solution to be chosen, Stavreski stressed.
