Kavadarci, 31st March 2016 (MIA) – Kavadarci is a municipality in which unemployment is among the lowest in the Republic of Macedonia and, compared to 2005, number of employed increased by 9,764 persons. Around six thousand people out of 9,764 are employed with “Dräxlmaier”, and people are also employed in other factories as well, both domestic and foreign.
This was pointed out by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski, in Kavadarci today, who also visited “Sloga Prom” company.
– Kavadarci is a good success story as regards employments and about the activities implemented by the Government aimed at reducing unemployment and creating as many jobs as possible. Since this provides for a better life and changes the life of the people for better, he said.
He underlined that the main goal of Government’s economic policies is to reduce unemployment and support the companies. – That is why I am visiting a family business which started operating in the 90’s, with only 3 employees, increasing to six employees today. This business has also applied measures introduced by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia under the “Macedonia Employs” Project and the EIB credit line under favourable terms and conditions. This is exactly our goal, through such measures and policies of the Government, to help the domestic companies create many jobs together with the foreign companies. I believe this family business, with the way it has operated so far and the announced investment in meat cold store in the amount of almost EUR 3 million, is an example of how domestic companies operate. This is a proof that domestic companies can grow and develop when successfully operating, as well as make investments and create jobs, Stavreski added.
We are constantly on the field where we meet with the citizens, the businessmen and the mayors. This is how this Government carries out its work. This is all, as he said, aimed at seeing the progress achieved in realizing projects of the Government and the investments and, should there be any problem, resolving it in favour of the citizens.
Co-owner Lasko Jovanov said that the family business had operated for more than 26 years and hoped the number of employees would exceed 100 persons.
– We have opted for an investment the business needed. The first stage of the investment is worth around Denar 15 million. It is a customs warehouse meat cold store for the needs of the company itself. This stage will encompass 30 new employments. The other two stages will be completed in the course of the next year. In addition to importing, we are also striving for expanding our business for both own production and export to foreign markets. All this, of course, will be realized with the help of the programs offered by the state, Jovanov said, expressing gratitude to the local government and the Government for their support.
Within his visit, Stavreski will also meet representatives from the Association of Pensioners, and will also be part of “Buy a House, Buy a Flat” and “Young Individuals and Couples Housing” caravan.
