Today, 3,504 primary tobacco producers of “Sokotab Bitola” and “Alliance One – Kavadarci” were paid subsidies for the tobacco purchased from the 2013 harvest. Ministry of Finance paid Denar 88.9 million as subsidies for the purchasing period from 27th February to 15th March this year, when presidential and parliamentary elections were held, and the payment of subsidies was suspended pursuant to the provisions in the Electoral Code.
Ministry of Finance continues the regular payment of subsidies as support to the agriculture sector, being one of the main branches in the Macedonian business sector.
