Skopje, 17th December 2013 (MIA) – 2014 Budget, in addition to the development dimension, includes dimension of social stability. Denar 77,667 million is projected for social transfers, also including the envisaged increase of pensions and social benefits by 5% to be paid in March next year.

– On the basis of precise calculations carried out in 2014 on the revenue side and as for the costs of living, we concluded that we can increase the pensions and the social assistance, which will be paid in March, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance said within the Parliamentary debate about the 2014 Draft Budget.

He pointed out that funds are envisaged for regular and timely payment on the basis of rights to social protection of all vulnerable categories of citizens.

New social rights, i.e. payment of funds on the basis of new social rights is envisaged in the 2014 Budget. As regards the right to special allowance for single parents of children with development impairments, the allowance will be increased by 50%, whereby Denar 6,400 will be paid on monthly basis. As for social protection, in addition to the existing right to salary for shortened working hours due to care of child with severe mental and physical disabilities and the right to pecuniary allowance for help for care of other person, new right to allowance for deafness in the amount of Denar 6,000 for around 870 persons is also envisaged, while the existing right to mobility is increased, amounting to Denar 7,000.

Funds for functioning of the existing daily centers and soup kitchens are planned, as well as funds for subsidizing the costs for energy of the most vulnerable categories of citizens.
According to the Minister, all these fact show that the Government pays attention to supporting all vulnerable categories of citizens.
