10th May 2018, Jordan – Two crucial projects n the field of gasification were announced by Minister of Finance Dragan Tevdovski, taking part in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Annual Meetings in Jordan. First one relates to construction of municipal secondary gas distribution network, while the second one is construction of national gas power line between Macedonian and Greece. EBRD is interested in financing both projects.

-Аt present, EBRD finances two projects in the field of energy infrastructure in Macedonia. We plan to increase the capital investments in the energy sector in near future. EBRD gave preliminary consent for its participation in the financing of these two major projects. First one is constructing municipal secondary gas distribution network in several municipalities in different regions. Project is estimated to amount to around EUR 50 million. In addition to the credit line for this project, we also required grants necessary for preparing the project’s technical documentation, Minister of Finance Tevdovski said.

 

Tevdovski underlined that the second project in the field of gasification discussed during the meetings, referred to interconnection of Macedonia and Greece via the gas power line.

-This is a project is of crucial importance. We have already received a letter of expression of interest by the European Investment Bank for financing this project, whereby Greece has also expressed interest in its realization – Tevdovski said.

Today, within the EBRD Annual Meetings, Minister Tevdovski takes part in the Board of Governor’s Roundtable. Tevdovski also realized several bilateral meetings. Discussions were focused on realizing the ongoing projects, as well as negotiating the upcoming ones.
