Today, in Brussels, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Zoran Stavreski will take part in the Meeting of Ministries of Finance of EU Member States with Ministries of Finance and Governors of Central Banks of candidate countries for EU membership.
 
Meeting is aimed at developing dialogue between EU Member States and candidate countries as regards the current developments in the financial systems and their convergence on the road to EU.
 
During the meeting, conclusions of the Pre-Accession Economic Programme will be discussed, which is three-year macroeconomic and fiscal programme of each candidate country, presenting the planned structural reforms and current fiscal policies.
 
Vice Prime Minister Stavreski will present the economic situation in the Republic of Macedonia, progress in implementing reforms, effects from the global economic and financial crisis on the real and the financial sector, as well as the measures of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia for overcoming the economic crisis.
 
Ministerial meeting will be also attended by the EU Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Olli Rehn and Ministries of Finance and Governors of Central Banks of EU Member States.
