14th June 2022, Skopje – Under Supplementary Budget, being debated at the Financing and Budget Parliamentary Commission, wage increase is envisaged in the health sector, higher, secondary and primary education personnel, child care personnel, judiciary staff and Ministry of Interior personnel. In addition, funds are also envisaged for wage increase subsidies for the employees in the private sector, Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi, pointed out in his guest appearance on TV 24.
He also underlined that funds are envisaged for 15% increase of wages for the staff in the judiciary, the primary and the secondary schools and the child care sector, 7% increase of wages for the higher education personnel and 5% wage increase for the personnel at the MIA and the health sector.
As regards the demands of part of the Unions for the wage increase in the public sector, Besimi pointed out that negotiations are ongoing at the Government so as to find a viable solution.
He also said that activities are being undertaken for a sustainable mode for public sector wage increase, to be based on productivity of the economy and the living standard of the citizens.
