7th November 2024, Skopje – Deputy Minister of Finance, Nikolche Jankulovski, attended the first round table dedicated to the tools for monitoring and evaluating the National Development Strategy, conveying the message that NDS goal is to achieve accelerated and sustainable development of the domestic economy, with the monitoring and the evaluation of its implementation being an important component therein.

“Objective of the National Development Strategy is to achieve accelerated and sustainable development of the domestic economy. It defines the vision for economic development, with the strategic areas defined including: sustainable, innovative and competitive economy; sustainable local and regional development ensuring cohesion; demographic revitalization and social and cultural development; rule of law and good governance; safe, secure and resilient society and green transformation. They are all part of the country’s comprehensive vision for a prosperous and inclusive future – a future we are to provide for the present and the future generations”, Deputy Minister Jankulovski said.

Priorities and reforms, as he said, defined in this long-term document and the goals to be attained in the coming period are to be a driving force to setting measures and activities in the programs and the projects to be designed by the institutions. He emphasized that monitoring the NDS progress will bring credible proof of whether the respective initiatives contribute to attaining the set goals. As he underlined, it will provide for the stakeholders to make decisions on the basis of relevant data, thus achieving the desired outcome.

The Workshop was organized by the United Nations Development Program – UNDP, with the support of which the National Development Strategy was prepared.
