16th April 2025, Skopje – Public Finance Academy, a Department within the Ministry of Finance, organized a professional training covering the following topic: „Providing Funds from Foreign Lender to Finance a Specific Project of a Public Debt Holder.”

The training was destined for public sector employees involved in activities related to project preparation, financing, and implementation — in particular major infrastructure projects.

The training was carried out by experts from the International Financial Relations Department within the Ministry of Finance, who presented the key aspects of international financial cooperation regulations and practices through practical examples and case studies. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of adhering to the regulations and maintaining international cooperation, as a precondition for greater financial integrity, as well as for the sake of avoiding potential legal consequences.

The training was designed to deepen participants’ knowledge in providing favorable, stable, and sustainable sources of financing specific projects, in line with the provisions of the Public Debt Law. The participants were introduced with certain legal provisions and their practical application, for the purpose of successful provision of foreign lenders’ funds, such as international financial institutions and bilateral creditors.

Particular focus was put on the significance of effective coordination among the relevant institutions in providing favorable loans and grants, thus contributing to accountable public finance management, as well as timely implementation of projects, which are of national interest.

Ministry of Finance, remains, through the Public Finance Academy, committed ensuring continuous education, introducing innovative approaches to public finance management, as well as fostering a culture of ongoing development within the public sector.
