Probistip, 7th February 2014 (MIA) – New 6,000 jobs are expected to be created this year in the factories of foreign investors in the industrial zones in Macedonia. These days, there are already several job announcements such as “Amphenol” in Kocani, “Johnson Controls in Stip and others.
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski pointed out that the Government will continue to create favourable climate with the business community and the investors for the purpose of increasing the number of both investments and employed persons.
– Form day to the day, the number of announcements increases, by which new jobs will be created by the foreign investors. These days, we have announcements for new jobs in Kocani in “Amphenol”, Stip in “”Johnson Controls” and in many other parts in the Republic of Macedonia. We will continue to create favourable climate with the business community and the investors so as to decrease unemployment and increase the number of both investments and employed person in Macedonia, which according to the last data, reached historically the highest level of 683,000 employed persons in Macedonia, the highest in the last 20 years. Last statistical data are 273,000 unemployed persons, being the lowest unemployment level, i.e. 28.7%, Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski said, answering journalist’s question today after the commissioning of new section in the factory for production of batteries TAB MAK.
-He expects for these sound economic policies, in particular as regards the attraction of foreign investments, as well as the realization of capital projects, and by improving the infrastructure, the construction of new highways, railroad tracks to Bulgaria and agricultural subsidies will create new possibilities for new investments and job creation.
He pointed out that reforms aimed at improving the business climate as regards investments in the country yield effects, adding that the existing capacities have already created around 5,000 jobs and that another 6,000 jobs are expected to be created during this year.
When asked how important the unemployment reduction is by the investments of foreign investors, Stavreski said that the reforms aimed at improving the business climate as regards investments in the Republic of Macedonia yield effects.
He indicated that it was a matter of a serious process and significant contribution to unemployment reduction. I expect that through the additional policies and by providing cheap credits for domestic investors and by retaining zero profit tax rate, domestic investments will increase, which will also be enabled by the stabilization of European economy, and all this will provide us with the possibility to continue with the good trend of unemployment reduction, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance said.
