22nd July 2024, Skopje – Today, Ministry of Finance initiated a procedure for revoking licences of two company for organizing games of chance due to failure to meet the requirements under the respective issued licences, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, announced at today’s press conference.
As she said, failure to observe legal provisions pertaining to licence requirements at both companies has been detected. In particular, it was observed that the public duties regulated under the Law on Games of Chance and Entertainment Games and the Law on Personal Income Tax have not been paid.
In addition, requests for determining the factual situation have been put before the competent authorities, all to the aim of determining whether the Budget has been adversely affected and to what extent.
As conferred at the press-conference, the Ministry of Finance also submitted a request before the competent authorities for re-examining procedural legality by the companies of meeting requirements and possessing a licence, as per the Law, when organizing online games of chance.
“As this matter presents a significant shortfall adversely affecting the Budget, we are to follow through clarifying all dilemmas and creating a level playing field by strictly observing the legal requirements”, Minister of Finance indicated.
