5th April 2025, Skopje – The Government and the Ministry of Finance strive to implement the European standards on modern and accountable public finance management, for the purpose of efficient management of public funds and institutional transparency and responsibility, Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska, highlighted at the 5th International Controlling Conference held in Skopje, centred around the controlling process in both private and public sector.
“The Conference topic brings forth the strong symbolism of Rubik’s cube reflecting the controlling process – a tool that aids in brining order to complexity, mapping out a strategy amidst chaos, integrating various parts of the system into a functional and effective whole.
The process should not be viewed as something excessive, but rather essential in both the private and the public sector. In the private sector, it allows for timely monitoring of results, planning, allocating resources and improving profitability, procedures especially significant for developing and creating sustainable businesses”, Minister said.
She clarified that efficient management of public finances, institutions and mature enterprises will contribute to the overall national development. Therefore, in addition to the Government’s commitment to the reform processes, introducing such processes into the private sector – empowering it to drive its own development, which will in turn impact the country’s development – is crucial. We are united in these efforts with the businesses implementing their individual plans, leading to shared outcomes.
She conveyed that the controlling process is crucial for both the private and the public sector, as the companies’ own development leads to higher economic growth in the country, which is one of the Government’s key priorities.
Minister of Finance is one of the first certified controllers in Macedonia, having attended one-year Controlling Academy, a certified program carried out by the Management Centre Belgrade, licensed by CA AKADEMIE AG of Munich, implementing her know-how throughout her extensive career in the private sector.
